在黑暗的無底坑裡，有一群在虛無中漂浮的苦難幽靈，它們企圖與坑外的螢火蟲溝通；孔子幽靈萬分悔恨與悲慟地問坑外的螢火蟲，“如何才能離開這永恆的地獄呢？”螢火蟲回答，“你必須靠‘主耶穌基督之光’才能離開這裡，你必須遵循‘主耶穌基督的福音道路’，你必須同‘主耶穌基督的心與靈’合一；你必須以‘主耶穌基督的心’為心 ，你必須以‘主耶穌基督的靈’為靈，這樣‘主耶穌基督之光’才能進入到你的心與靈裡！”
老子、莊子、張道陵、張角、孟子、荀子、墨翟、楊朱、韓非、悉達多、提婆、文殊師利(Manjusri）、鳩摩羅什（Kumarajiva）、法顯、玄奘、吉藏、龍樹、智钑、慧遠、杜順、善導、僧肇、達摩、慧可、僧璨、道信、弘忍、慧能、商羯羅、瑣羅亞斯德（Zoroaster）、摩尼（Mani）、穆罕默德、米爾扎•侯賽因•阿里(Mirza Hosagn Ali)、笩駄摩那(Vardhamana)、納那克戴夫(Nanak Dev)、辛饒米保、米拉日巴等幽靈也陸續問了螢火蟲同樣的問題，螢火蟲也以同樣的答案回答。
最後，螢火蟲對它們說，“主耶穌基督曾說，‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’(Matthew 22:37)、“Love your neighbor as yourself’(Matthew 22.40)、‘Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly’(Luke 6:27-28)、‘Love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples.’(John 13.34-35)！”
“You may share one will, one heart, one soul, one mind, one spirit under the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ！”
