在汶川大地震的災區，一位傳道人對著失去兒子而跪在地上哭的祥林嫂說，“妳不要哭了！妳的兒子正在往天堂的路走，妳的哭聲會影響他的情緒，你不知道嗎？”；祥林嫂破涕為笑地說，“真的嗎？那我這就不哭了！”螢火蟲氣憤地對那位傳道人說，“經上說，‘No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.’(John 3:13)，你為啥要說謊呢？”
一年半後，每日上訪的祥林嫂並沒有得到共產黨與建商對她兒子的死的應有的補償金，祥林嫂跪在共產黨衙門前的地上哭喊，“你們這些沒良心的黑心建商與官員，你們賠我兒子的命來！” ；
那位傳道人又對祥林嫂說，“算了吧，你如何能要到錢呢？這些黑心的建商與官員死後會進地獄的，你不知道嗎？” ；祥林嫂再次破涕為笑地說，“真的嗎？那我這就不哭了！”
螢火蟲又氣憤地對那位傳道人說，“經上說，‘When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.’(Psalms 146:4)，你為啥又要說謊呢？”
“主耶穌基督曾說，‘Most truly I say to YOU, The hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have given heed will live. For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to do judging, because Son of man he is. Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative; just as I hear, I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.’(John 5:25-30)，你為啥不告訴她主耶穌基督所說的真理與事實呢？”
