在黑暗的儒教文化舞台上，正在上演《胡氏之死》劇，第一幕開始時，蔣該死蛇在黑暗中對陳沉蛇說，“這胡氏蛇真討厭，它老是同我唱反調，這事兒咋辦？”；陳沉蛇說，“這事不難解決，屬下可為主子分憂！”
第二幕開始時，舞台上出現了胡氏主持“中央研究院”的第五次院士會議，舞台旁的看板上標示著“1962年2月24日上午”的日期與時間，胡氏並在會中發表了演講；會議在6時30分結束，就在與會人士陸續離去時，胡氏飲了一些“被摻了某些看不見的物”的水後，突然面色大變並且頭撞了一下放著茶點的方桌，然後立即倒在了地上。
此時，事先已被某單位安排好了的醫生們“立即”趕到，它們為胡氏注射了三支“某種”的強心針，並進行人工呼吸；接著， 7時25分，一輛出租車送來了台大醫院的主治醫生，醫生在胡氏的胸部聽了一下，便宣布了胡氏在十幾分鐘以前已經逝世。
第三幕開始時，舞台上出現了一污鬼，污鬼在獨白，“其實胡氏早就死了，當胡氏不敢立場堅定地反對與譴責蔣蛇的一黨專制時，當胡氏同蔣蛇的一黨專制妥協時，當胡氏接受蔣蛇的酬庸而成爲中央研究院院長(1957年11月)時，當胡氏參加了蔣蛇第三次總統連任的國民大會開幕典禮(1960年2月20日)時，當胡氏不敢因雷震事件(1960年9月4日)而同蔣蛇徹底決裂時，胡氏就已經死了；其實我就是胡氏，我就是牆頭草，我就是軟骨頭，我就是虛無者，我就是吃儒屎的蛇，你不知道嗎?”，污鬼說完了話後，閉幕。
黎明時，天空中的飛鳥唱著《Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones》歌，“Happy is the man that has not walked in the counsel of the wicked ones, And in the way of sinners has not stood, And in the seat of ridiculers has not sat. But his delight is in the law of Jehovah, And in his law he reads in an undertone day and night. And he will certainly become like a tree planted by streams of water, That gives its own fruit in its season. And the foliage of which does not wither, And everything he does will succeed. The wicked are not like that, But are like the chaff that the wind drives away. That is why the wicked ones will not stand up in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of righteous ones. For Jehovah is taking knowledge of the way of righteous ones, But the very way of wicked ones will perish.” (Ps 1:1-6)
