Hugo: 《The Ten Commandments》、五朵花與一群小蜜蜂

在黑暗的儒教文化圈外,有一“The ten commandments stone tablets”(Roots of Democracy)“The ten commandments stone tablets”旁長出了五朵美麗的小花,微風在“The ten commandments stone tablets”旁唱著五朵花歌,“The five key features of American democracy: consent of the governed, representative democracy, rule of law, individual rights, and checks and balances.”

一群小蜜蜂立在五朵花裏唱著United States Declaration of Independence歌,“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

But all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of the reconciliation, namely, that God was by means of Christ reconciling a world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and he committed the word of the reconciliation to us. We are therefore ambassadors substituting for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. As substitutes for Christ we beg: “Become reconciled to God. The one who did not know sin he made to be sin for us, that we might become God’s righteousness by means of him.” (2 Cor 5:17-21)
