在黑暗的世界裡，有一螞蟻名叫薛西佛斯(Sisyphus)正在斜坡上推石粒，薛西佛斯不斷地將石粒推上山頂，到達山頂後石粒又會因自己的重量而落回原處，但是薛西佛斯還是無停息與重複地推石頭，螢火蟲問薛西佛斯螞蟻，“你為啥不到有光的地方去做一些有意義的事情呢？”薛西佛斯螞蟻回答，“這個世界裡哪裡有光？這個世界裡還有啥事是更有意義的呢？”；螢火蟲不同意地說，“經上說，‘I blessed the Most High himself, and the One living to time indefinite I praised and glorified, because his rulership is a rulership to time indefinite and his kingdom is for generation after generation. And all the inhabitants of the earth are being considered as merely nothing, and he is doing according to his own will among the army of the heavens and the inhabitants of the earth. And there exists no one that can check his hand or that can say to him, What have you been doing?’Dan 4;34-35)，凡是拒絕光者必永恆回歸黑暗與虛無，你不知道嗎？”
