在“人的等級意識與專制文化”的鐵籠子裏，白目鳥對迷糊鳥說，“漢文化、漢文字與漢語言用‘叔叔、伯父、舅舅、姨父、姑父’等來表述英文裡的‘Uncle’概念，‘叔叔’還分‘大叔、二叔、三叔……十三叔’，‘伯父’還分‘大伯、二伯、三伯……十三伯’，何以漢文化、漢文字與漢語言會如此地複雜呢？”

迷糊鳥說，“漢文化、漢文字與漢語言用‘嬸嬸、伯母、舅媽、姑姑、姨母’等來表述英文裡的‘Aunt’概念，‘伯母’還分‘大伯母、二伯母、三伯母……十三伯母’，‘舅媽’還分‘大舅媽、二舅媽、三舅媽……十三舅媽’，何以漢文化、漢文字與漢語言會如此地複雜呢？”
