For the Glory of God: Living Every Moment in Worship and Obedience

For the Glory of God: Living Every Moment in Worship and Obedience

1 Corinthians 10:31 declares: "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

This verse offers a comprehensive command that covers every area of life—calling believers to dedicate not just spiritual acts, but everyday actions to the glory of God. Glorifying God is not reserved for moments of worship or ministry; it is the daily purpose of those redeemed by Christ.

The foundation for this command is laid in Romans 11:36: “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.”

Everything exists for God’s glory, and believers are called to reflect that purpose in their lives. Colossians 3:17 reinforces this calling: “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Even our bodies are instruments for God’s glory. As 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 teaches: “You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” This aligns with Romans 12:1, which urges believers to present themselves as “living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to God.”

Only those who love God with all their heart and soul, keep the commandments of Jesus, and do the will of the Father can live this life of glorifying God.

If there is no true fear of God, love of God, and obedience to God, a person may be pious on the outside, but lack the spiritual power to truly glorify God in his heart (2 Timothy 3:5).

In the end, Psalm 115:1 reminds us, “Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name be the glory.” When our hearts are fully devoted to God, every moment—whether eating, working, speaking, or serving—becomes an act of worship that reflects His beauty, majesty, and truth. This is the essence of walking in 1 Corinthians 10:31.
