有一天，孔子在家忙著殺豬宰羊準備招待貴賓，即將被宰殺的羊好奇地問孔子，“你為什麼要殺我？”；孔子說，“毛澤東要來了！他有權有勢，我能不好好招待他嗎？”羊又問孔子，“你不知道毛澤東是壞人嗎？”；孔子說，“你不要管他是不是壞人，你只管他會不會給你利，不是嗎？”
羊氣憤地說，“主耶穌基督曾說，‘Sell what you own. Give to those who are poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out. Put away riches in heaven that will not be used up. There, no thief can come near it. There, no moth can destroy it. Your heart will be where your riches are.’(Luke 12:33-34)，這些愛好追逐名利權位的世俗者何時才能理解呢？”
