We Must Diligently Keep and Obey God’s Commandments
In these last days, what must a person do in order to truly love God? How can one know the truth? How can one know God? How can one become a child of God? How can one become an overcomer? How can one receive salvation? How can one enter the kingdom of heaven? How can one obtain eternal life?
Ezekiel 18:27–28
“Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life. Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions that he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.”
From this passage, we learn that when a person turns away from evil and practices what is just and righteous, he preserves his life and shall surely live.
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
This passage teaches that if a person does not turn back to God, abandon evil, and practice what is just and right, he will remain in sin, and the consequence of sin is death.
Leviticus 22:31
“So you shall keep My commandments and do them; I am the LORD.”
From this verse, we understand that a person must diligently keep and obey God’s commandments. Only then can he turn back to God, forsake evil, practice righteousness and justice, abide in Christ, and receive eternal life.
Conclusion
In these last days, we must diligently keep and faithfully obey the commandments of the LORD. Only by doing so can we truly love God, know the truth, know Him personally, become His children, overcome the world, receive salvation, enter the kingdom of heaven, and inherit eternal life.
Leviticus 22:31 reveals the foundational key to understanding the message of the sixty-six books of the Bible. Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ perfectly demonstrated this key by His life, and He explicitly explained it through His words in John 14:23.
John 14:23
Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our dwelling with him.”
Whoever wholeheartedly obeys the words of Jesus is also wholeheartedly obeying the commandments of God.
Whoever wholeheartedly keeps God’s commandments will continually turn away from sin, continually pursue holiness, continually walk in the light, continually overcome the world, continually experience God’s saving work, continually take up his own cross and follow Christ, and continually advance toward the kingdom of heaven and the gift of eternal life.
Therefore, diligently keeping and obeying God’s commandments is the pathway revealed throughout Scripture for those who desire to love God, know Him, abide in Christ, walk in holiness, persevere as overcomers, enter the kingdom of heaven, and inherit eternal life.
