隔了幾日後，“中華”家也死了人在辦喪事，“中華”家也傳了哭聲，“中華”的女兒死了，她在注射毒疫苗後死了；隔壁戶的“阿漢”特高興，毒疫苗是“阿漢”私下賣給醫院的，村子裡沒人知道此事。“中華”曾在镇反運動時害死了“阿漢”的娘，因此“阿漢”並不覺得慚愧而且認為這完全是合理的報應。
隔了幾周後，“阿漢”家也死了人在辦喪事，“阿漢”家也傳了哭聲，“阿漢”的兒子死了，他在監獄被睡死了；隔壁戶的“阿唐”特高興，“阿唐”是睡死“阿漢”兒子的兇手，村子裡沒人知道此事。“阿漢”曾在反右運動時害死了“阿唐”的哥哥，因此“阿唐”並不覺得慚愧而且認為這完全是合理的報應。
隔了幾月後，“阿唐”家也死了人在辦喪事了，“阿唐”家也傳了哭聲，“阿唐”的女兒死了，她在打醬油時被車撞死了；隔壁戶的“中國”特高興，“阿唐”的女兒是被“中國”開車撞死了，“中國”肇事後安全逃走了，沒人發現。“阿唐”曾在文革時害死了“中國”的姐姐，因此“中國”並不覺得慚愧而且認為這完全是合理的報應。
黎明時，野地裏的百合花唱著《The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate. Who can know it?》(Jer 17:9)與《And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.》(Ps 37:10-11)歌。
天空中的飛鳥唱著《Repent, YOU people, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.》(Mt 4:17)與《Consequently if anyone is in union with Christ, he is a new creation; the old things passed away, look! new things have come into existence. But all things are from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of the reconciliation, namely, that God was by means of Christ reconciling a world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and he committed the word of the reconciliation to us. We are therefore ambassadors substituting for Christ, as though God were making entreaty through us. As substitutes for Christ we beg: Become reconciled to God.
