Faith in Christ

Faith in Christ

Many people of the world believe they have faith in God; however, when they face curses, difficulties, disasters, or the influence of Mammon, their faith in God collapses immediately. Why is this so?

1, How Can One Confirm They Have Faith in God?

2 Corinthians 13:5

"Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!"

From this scripture, we learn that only when a person is in Christ can they truly have faith in God. If a person is not in Christ, how can they have faith in Him?

2, God Grants Faith to Man

Colossians 2:6–7

"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."

Luke 17:5

"The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith!'"

From these verses, it is clear that only when a person is in God can their faith be rooted, built up, and established. God can increase a person's faith; true faith comes from God.

3, Faith Without Works is Dead

James 2:26

"For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead."

From the Book of James, we see that Abraham offered his son Isaac on the altar, and Rahab the prostitute welcomed the messengers and sent them out by another way. Both Abraham and Rahab had actions in their hearts that obeyed God’s will; they were justified by faith, and they were justified by their works.

4, How Can One Dwell in Christ?

John 14:23

"Jesus answered him, 'If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.'"

This scripture shows that only by obeying the words of Jesus can a person receive the indwelling of Christ. When a person receives the indwelling of Christ, they can truly be in Christ.

Conclusion

When a person keeps the words of Jesus, they are able to be in Christ.

When they are in Christ, they become a person belonging to God. Only then can they fully deny themselves, be born again, and become a new creation. Only then can they honor God, letting Him take first place in their life, obey His will in all things, and seek His kingdom and righteousness in every matter. In this way, they gain God’s pleasure and receive the faith that He graciously gives.
