Those Whom God Has Predestined for Redemption
In these last days, many people speak about “those whom God has predestined for redemption” based on their own ideas. Such views can easily drift away from the teaching of Scripture. So how does the Bible define those whom God has predestined for redemption?
1. Christ Accomplished Redemption Through the Cross
Romans 3:23–26
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith…”
From these verses, we see that all people are sinners, and redemption is available only through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross.
2. God Chose Those Who Are in Christ
Ephesians 1:4–5
“For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world… In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ…”
These verses show that before the creation of the world, God determined to choose those who are in Christ.
3. Only Those in Christ Are Saved
Ephesians 2:8–9
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:7
“…that in the coming ages He might show the incomparable riches of His grace…”
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works…”
From these passages, it is clear that salvation is by grace through faith, and it belongs only to those who are in Christ.
4. Jesus Defines What It Means to Be “In Christ”
John 14:23
“Anyone who loves Me will obey My teaching. My Father will love them, and We will come to them and make Our home with them.”
From this verse, we understand that those who obey Jesus’ words are the ones who truly love Him. Such people are the ones who are in Christ. Only those who are in Christ are those whom God has predestined for redemption.
Conclusion
Only those who wholeheartedly keep the commands of Jesus Christ can experience His indwelling presence.
Only those in whom Christ dwells are truly “in Christ.” And only those who are in Christ are the ones whom God has predestined for redemption.
